At Cary Family Dental we know how important it is to protect your face while playing sports. Dr. Acton recently treated a 12 year-old patient who was in an ice skating accident. The boy was not wearing a mouthguard to protect against tooth fracture. When he fell, the boy’s front tooth chipped and broke in half. Fortunately, the parents were able to find the tooth and Dr. Acton was able to re-glue the tooth back in. We are expecting this repair to last a long time, but it will never be as good as the original. He is doing well, and he promises to wear a mouth guard in the future.
Please give us a call if you have any questions about mouth guards! Dr. Acton is always happy to offer advice regarding facial protection against sports-related injuries.
