Dr. Kristin Madden grew up with dentistry in her DNA. With both parents practicing side by side as dentists, she learned early on that great care goes far beyond clinical skill—it’s about connection, trust, and making people feel like family. After nearly a decade of practicing alongside her mom and dad, she carries their legacy forward every day by treating patients the way she was treated growing up—with honesty, comfort, and the highest standard of care.
She is especially passionate about Invisalign, smile makeovers, and even extractions—a clinical mix that allows her to bring both precision and compassion to every case. Whether she’s restoring confidence through a new smile or guiding someone through a more complex procedure, Dr. Madden creates space for patients to feel heard, supported, and safe.
For patients who feel nervous or haven’t been to the dentist in years, she starts with a low-pressure consultation to build comfort first. It’s a chance to talk, understand goals, and match each patient with a hygienist who fits their personality and needs. Her goal is simple: to help every patient feel like they’re in the hands of someone who genuinely cares—because they are.
Dr. Madden earned her undergraduate degree in Spanish from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, her master’s in Physiology from NC State University, and her Doctor of Dental Surgery from the UNC School of Dentistry. She is a certified provider of Invisalign and Six Month Smiles, and a member of the American Dental Association, the North Carolina Dental Society, and the Third District Dental Society.
After her parents retired from dentistry, Dr. Madden joined Cary Family Dental in search of a team that felt like home—and she found it. “What I missed most was working with family,” she says. “That’s exactly what this team has become.”
Outside of the office, Dr. Madden enjoys reading, gardening, traveling, and wine tasting—often alongside her husband, Esteban, a sommelier and owner of EB Wines in Chapel Hill. She finds inspiration in literature, especially the words of Gabriel García Márquez:
“It is not true that people stop pursuing dreams because they grow old; they grow old because they stop pursuing dreams.”
It’s that same everyday practice—of kindness, consistency, and connection—that defines Dr. Madden’s care.
