Oral sedation is another options. It has helped countless patients calmly undergo dental treatment. It involves taking a sedative about an hour before your procedure, and has been used safely in various forms since the 1800s. You’ll need to have a ride home afterward.
As of this year, Cary Family Dentistry is offering IV sedation. It involves a sedative that is administered intravenously. It won’t make you sleep, but will put you in a deep, dreamlike state. As with oral sedation, you’ll need someone to drive you home when your procedure is finished.
